PRINT of Day 6, 2023 - Prompt word ‘golden’
The Panamanian Golden Frog in all of her motherhood glory! With tadpoles in tow, I loved making this piece in honor of our amphibian community. This frogs vibrant coloring is a result of a delicious diet mainly of fruit flies & small insects! Deadly fact- the skin of a single Panamanian Golden Frog contains enough toxins to kill 1,200 mice! Listed critically endangered due to habitat loss and disease, 10% of sales will go to Jungle Keepers, LLC.
The Inktober Challenge is what brought black ink & thatching into my life! I have no formal training or education in ink art, I just love to do it. My practice in this medium grows with each piece I make, and I am so grateful for Mother Nature being my muse for most of the prompts each year!
